The Rasmus are a Finnish alternative rock – band . In Germany the band was founded in 2003, titled In the Shadows known, although it has existed since 1994 and has long been successful in Finland.
The band consists of four members Lauri Johannes Ylönen (vocals, born April 23, 1979 in Helsinki ), Aki Markus Hakala (drums, born 28 October 1979 in Espoo , Finland), Esko Pauli Antero Rantasalmi (guitar, born May 1 1979 in Helsinki) and Eero Aleksi Heinonen (bass, born 27 November 1979 in Helsinki). To 1999 was employed instead of Aki Hakala still Janne Heiskanen on drums, but these emigrated to Thailand from. At that time, the band still called Rasmus , to avoid confusion with Swedish DJ Rasmus to avoid, they baptized in The Rasmus in order.
The band’s story began – as so many rock groups – in the garage at home. At that time the band members were 15 years old. Initially they called themselves Anttila , but named by virtue of their lack of success. 1996 her debut album took a peep gold in Finland.
Lauri Ylönen and Pauli Rantasalmi manage even the bands Kwan and Killer, killer, however, have two albums released after dissolved for personal reasons. Lauri Ylönen 2004 teamed up with HIM -lead singer Ville Valo and Apocalyptica Bittersweet Apocalyptica and exclusively with the title Life Burns! on. With the killer song was All I Want and Siiri Nordin of Killer and Kwan Chillin ‘At The Grotto was added.
In February 2006 the band together with HIM and Negative five concerts in Germany, one in Austria and one in Switzerland. From mid-March to mid-April 2006 by The Rasmus toured Central and South America , Mexico and South Africa .
In September 2008 he released the album Black Roses . It was recorded partly in Helsinki, some in Nashville / USA. Producers were Desmond Child and Harry Dahl summer , the songs were mixed by Michael Wegener. The single Livin ‘In A World Without You debuted at number 14 in the German single charts.
